A former Oxford University Phd tyro allegedly raped a lady and then texted her a year after to contend he was sorry.
Sherman Ip, 25, pounded the victim at his prosaic in Euston Square, in 2013, a justice heard.
She primarily only told her boyfriend but motionless to go to the police after receiving a calm from Ip a year later, the jury at Southwark Crown Court, in London, was told.
It allegedly read: ‘I am so contemptible for emotionally abusing you and utilizing you to do things you didn’t wish to do. we am really contemptible for raping you. we am really contemptible for spiteful you. It’s all my fault.’
David Povall, prosecuting, added: ‘They were sitting on the lounge together and as they talked he apparently wasn’t listening to her given he kept trying to examine her and mislay her clothes.
‘She was revelation him to stop but he continued, and after a while managed to remove her belt and pulled off her knickers and jeans together.’
‘She started great during the sex and he apparently beheld that given he asked her if she was alright – but continued in any event.’
Ip has a masters grade in Physics from University College London and in 2015 changed to Oxford University for the first year of his Phd as partial of the Oxford Warwick Statistics Programme.
Southwark Crown Court listened the victim was also a tyro at the time and had famous Ip given 2012.
Ip, from Burcot Gardens, Maidenhead, Berkshire, was charged with rape in late 2015 and done no criticism in police interview.
He denies the allegations.
