The Point: Pet Benefits

Hey, employers of “pet parents,” I’ve got a bone to collect you. For the Colson Center, I’m John Stonestreet with The Point.

Every time we speak about how dogs have transposed kids in the country, we step in it with listeners. So let me just contend this: we adore dogs. Cats?–not so much. But we now live in a enlightenment where people are increasingly valuing animals over people.

According to Anne Kadet in the Wall Street Journal, a flourishing series of employers—especially in rich New York and Silicon Valley—are charity their employees advantages like pet insurance, pet anguish leave, and even supposed “pawternity leave” for new doggy daddies and mommies.

Now because is this a problem? Well, often, better advantages are offering for pet owners than for relatives of tangible children.

Kadet asked the COO of one Manhattan company that allows employees to take their dogs to work either they also concede kids in the office. “We’ve never had anyone ask,” she replied.

Take a discerning demeanour at Romans 1… treacherous the combined sequence is never a good sign, for people or their society.
