The Point: Megachurches vs. Gay “Marriage”

Liberal divinity doesn’t draw a crowd. For the Colson Center, I’m John Stonestreet with The Point.

A new consult by LGBT advocacy organisation Church Clarity, found that nothing of the 100 largest churches in America attest same-sex unions. These churches represent over a million Christians, and show that despite a media and domestic category that’s mostly supposed supposed same-sex “marriage,” the biggest churches in this country are not lifting the rainbow flag.

Mark Tooley of the Institute on Religion and Democracy says that while this doesn’t meant all megachurches indispensably have plain theology, it does show that rambling Scripture to fit the passionate series doesn’t fill the pews. This is generally transparent when you contrariety megachurches and regressive denominations—many of which are growing—with dying, mainline, magnanimous Protestant churches.

Now, the news isn’t all good. The consult also found that while these megachurches weren’t affirming of homosexual relationships, many have not done their position public, or clear. That’s a pity, since Christ was transparent about the clarification of marriage. And His bride should be too.
