Well, it’s official… the 24 hour uninterrupted Christmas music stations are live, stores are bombarding us with turn after turn of assets on gadgets and gifts, and we’re all commencement to feel the dispatch and discord of the season.
But historically, the Church did not commend this deteriorate as Christmas–not yet. And if you need help gripping the concentration of you and your family where it needs to be this time of year, competence we suggest honoring the Church calendar, instead of the informative one?
This Sunday marks the commencement of Advent, a deteriorate of preparation, repentance, and thoughtfulness on the promises done by God to His people, promises He over in the “fullness of time” when He sent the Messiah, Immanuel, God with Us. Ultimately, these promises will be finally over at Christ’s second coming.
So don’t be rushed. Take time for Advent. Reflecting on God’s promises in Christ is a superb way to be prepared for the Christmas season, when it’s time.
