AN Oxford University tyro seemed in justice currently charged with raping a lady at a party a year before picking up his A-level results.
Oliver Mears, 19, spoke to endorse his name and pleaded not guilty to rape and passionate assault.
The justice listened how the chemistry tyro had put his studies on hold for an educational year to combine on his arriving hearing and was due to go before a jury next year.
The teen had started study at St Hugh’s College in Sep last year.
Defending, Alphege Bell told Guildford Crown Court that a passionate confront had taken place at a party in Horley, Surrey, between Jul 22 and 24 2015.
The hearing was due to last between 5 and 6 days and was set to start at the same justice on Jan 22 next year.
Recorder of Guildford Judge Robert Fraser was told that many people “a vast number” at the party when the corruption is accused of articulate place were set to be called at witnesses.
Mears, of Horley, Surrey, is due to mount hearing at Guildford Crown Court on Jan 22 and has been expelled on redeeming bail.
Oxford University has been contacted for a comment.
