Charlie Condou is puzzled he’ll return to Coronation Street.
Charlie played midwife Marcus Dent on the soap from 2007 to 2008 and then returned in 2011 until he left again in 2014.
After Marcus’s attribute with Sean Tully finished he was interconnected off with Maria Connor, but he finished up intrigue on her with Todd Grimshaw and the tumble out gathering him to leave Weatherfield.
The actor is now treading the play in London in The Crucible, personification witch-hunter Reverend Hale.
And while he hasn’t incited his back on the soap for good, Charlie certified that he’s too bustling enjoying doing other things to consider a return to the cobbles.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain, Charlie, 44, said: ‘I consider the doorway is open. we don’t know. They were very good when we pronounced we wanted to leave and they said, “The doorway will be open, we’re not killing you off.”
‘So we would suppose the option is always there. we don’t consider it’s right for me at the moment. I’m very happy doing what I’m doing but never contend never. we adore that show.’
Host Piers Morgan drew his courtesy to the fact that there are now 5 happy characters on the show (Sophie Webster, Kate Connor, Todd Grimshaw, Billy Mayhew and Sean), and asked if he felt they were ‘representative enough’.
Charlie, who has been with husband Cameron Laux given 2005, said: ‘I do. we consider a few years ago they would have been your token happy character, just like there was substantially your token black character. we consider we’ve changed on from that.
