Who is Sam Matterface? New Dancing on Ice 2018 commentator replacing Matt Chapman and talkSPORT host

DANCING On Ice was only one week old when someone left the show.

But it wasn’t one of the celebs, instead commentator Matt Chapman motionless to quit. Meet his deputy and talkSPORT horde Sam Matterface.

Who is Sam Matterface?

A lifelong Chelsea fan Sam is a very informed face and voice to football fans opposite the country.

After a duration at Sky Sports News, where he met his now ex-wife Natalie Sawyer, Sam headed for radio and is one of talkSPORT’s star commentators.

Sam began his career as a proffer on internal hospital radio in 1992 before going on to work in several internal radio roles.

In 2007 he assimilated Sky Sports News as a TV anchor and his work brought him into hit with Sawyer – whom he married before the span divorced in 2014.

They have a son called Sawyer Matterface who was innate in Oct 2010.

Over the years for talkSPORT Sam has commentated on the biggest games in football and was operative the night his beloved Chelsea won the Champions League in 2012 after a thespian final against Bayern Munich.

He has also commentated on TV for ITV at the World Cup and the European Championships.

Why did Matt Chapman leave Dancing On Ice?

Matt assimilated Dancing On Ice as the show’s commentator for the rebooted 2018 but then left the ITV programme after just one show.

A Dancing on Ice source told The Sun’s Bizarre column: “Matt motionless he couldn’t make his diary utterly work as he thought.

“He’s a big impression and a gifted sports commentator but he had some churned reviews in the first show, and he told ITV that maybe it wasn’t for him after all.”

The Sun then suggested that ITV had snapped up Sam as his replacement.

A telly source said: “Sam is a gifted commentator.

“There’s a certain art when it comes to radio explanation – so he’s some-more than qualified.

“He was the healthy presenter and he’s got a face not just for radio.”

When is Dancing On Ice 2018 on TV?

Series 10 launched on Sunday, Jan 7, at 6pm on ITV.

The second part of Dancing On Ice airs on Sunday, Jan 21, at the same time.

It will underline the 6 celebrities who did not perform in the show’s opening week.
