GEMMA Atkinson almost incited down the offer to be on Strictly Come Dancing since of her crippling entertainment fright.
The former Emmerdale thespian has assimilated this year’s line up alongside the likes of Saturday’s thespian Mollie King and former X Factor leader Alexandra Burke.
But despite spending her career in front of the cameras, the 32-year-old confessed she has terrible nerves about going on live TV.
She told the Daily Star Sunday: “I didn’t contend approbation true away. In fact we almost incited it down.
“I was worried about Strictly throwing me back into the spotlight and we was frightened of behaving on live TV any week in front of 12million people.
“I’ve been in outrageous shows like Emmerdale, Casualty and Hollyoaks but I’m used to pre-recording everything.
“I actually stopped doing live entertainment about 10 years ago since it is so nerve-racking, but I’ll just have to get over that.”
However Gemma had to punch the bullet when BBC bosses released her with an ultimatum.
She said: “After two weeks they chased my agent for an answer.
“My silent told me it was such an extraordinary event and we would be stupid to spin it down.
“I always consider it is better to do something and it go wrong than bewail not doing something and never knowing, so we pronounced yes.”
Fans of the thespian will know she is in remarkably good figure interjection to her healthy vital and practice regime.
But the star denied her implausible physique and aptness would give her an astray advantage over her associate celebrities.
She said: “I’d like to consider I’m fit adequate to do it but we don’t have any dance knowledge at all so that’s not going to be adequate to get me through.”
