SILENCE Of The Lambs executive Jonathan Demme has died at the age of 73.
His means of death has been reported to be esophageal cancer and complications from heart disease, a source close to the family told IndieWire.
The executive was treated for the illness in 2010 and it after returned in 2015, with his condition deteriorating over the past few weeks.
He died this morning in New York and leaves behind his wife and 3 children.
Jonathan Demme won vicious commend for a series of films including Philadelphia and Silence of the Lambs.
He done his entrance with 1971 film Angels Hard as They Come and destined a series of dramas in the 80s including Something Wild and Melvin and Howard.
But many recently he was operative with Meryl Streep on comedy Ricky and the Flash in 2015 as good as a Justin Timberlake documentary in 2016.
