In an email to the 8,427 members, the CEO of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Science pronounced “people who abuse their status, energy or change in a demeanour that violates standards of decency” may be expelled.

The academy’s 54-member house of governors authorized the standards in a assembly on Tuesday evening.

According to the Los Angeles Times, which has seen the email, it says: “There is no place in the Academy for people who abuse their status, energy or change in a demeanour that violates recognized standards of decency.
“The Academy is definitely against to any form of abuse, nuisance or taste on the basement of gender, passionate orientation, race, ethnicity, disability, age, religion, or nationality.”
Critics of the organization have called it “spotty” as executive Roman Polanski was not banned after being convicted for raping a child in the 1970s.
There have also been calls for the Manchester By The Sea actor Casey Affleck to be banned after claims of passionate harassment.
He won Best Actor Academy endowment progressing this year.
The actor denied the accusations and has formerly pronounced “any kind of indignity of anyone for any reason is unsuitable and abhorrent, and everybody deserves to be treated with honour in the workplace and anywhere else”.
It follows bodies such as the Old Vic Theatre also announcing a code of conduct after allegations against Kevin Spacey reached 20.
