‘Facts of Life’ star Charlotte Rae opens adult about alcoholism
Charlotte Rae drank adequate to put her to nap any night.
The “Facts of Life” star non-stop adult about her conflict with alcoholism that began in college and lasted until her 40s.
“Alcohol became my drug of choice so we could get nap during night,” a 90-year-old singer told Fox News. “It was difficult. we was doing ‘Sesame Street’ (from 1971-72) as Molly a Mail Lady and we had to get to nap so we could get adult for a kids and do a TV uncover Monday-Friday.”
Her eldest son, Andrew, was innate autistic and with a mental disability, that she pronounced usually irritated her celebration problem.
“After a hang celebration for ‘Sesame Street,’ we went over to a meeting,” she said.
“I was awaiting to see a garland of bums with red noses and burlap drifting around. No — we saw a lot of good dressed, pleasing people. At a finish of a meeting, we all hold hands and pronounced a Lord’s prayer. And we wept. That was a commencement of my sobriety. I’m now 42 years sober.”
Rae has worked usually given then, many recently in guest appearances in “Pretty Little Liars” and “Girl Meets World” and a purpose in Meryl Streep’s “Ricki and a Flash.”
