Franco, who has denied claims done by two women, won best actor in a comedy for his role as Tommy Wiseau in The Disaster Artist, but did not collect his accolade.
Hours before the ceremony, serve claims were published in the Los Angeles Times by 5 women who pronounced he had been sexually inappropriate.
Franco did not issue a fresh statement, but his publicist forked towards the actor’s prior criticism that allegations which had been done on social media were “not accurate”.
On the night, the Critics’ Choice Awards distinguished women-centric stories like Big Little Lies, The Handmaid’s Tale and The Marvelous Mrs Maisel.
Wonder Woman was named best transformation film and star Gal Gadot supposed a special endowment for severe gender stereotypes.
She was presented with the second #SeeHer endowment for furthering the picture of women on screen.
Gadot distinguished the success of Patty Jenkins, her executive in Wonder Woman, but forked out there is still a default of women directing top movies.
She said: “In the past weeks and months we’ve been witnessing a transformation in the attention and multitude and we wish to share this endowment with all women and men who mount for what’s right.
“My guarantee and joining to all of you is that we will never be silenced and we will continue to rope together to make strides ordering for equality.”
The Shape Of Water, which stars Londoner Sally Hawkins, was the many distinguished film on the night, winning 4 awards, including best picture and best executive for Guillermo Del Toro.
Del Toro, usurpation the best film accolade, brought stars Hawkins and Octavia Spencer to the theatre as good as screenwriter Vanessa Taylor.
“For everybody that has been unsymmetrical in operative with women, let me show you who stands here with us and done this film possible,” he said.
